What is Airsoft?
Airsoft is a competitive sport, which plays similar to paintball, but uses realistic model guns firing small plastic balls, or bb’s. Often called BB guns, they are capable of firing semi automatic & full automatic, and have a range of over 100 feet.

Airsoft is always played on private land, and often on specially built “skirmish sites” around the country where groups of airsofters come to play against each other. However, as airsoft guns are very realistic, they must not be used or even seen in public as they can easily be mistaken for real guns, and you could get arrested, or shot without warning by armed police.

While there are many types of games that can be played they tend to revolve around two concepts Skirmishes and Milsim. Skirmishes are elimination games. Two or more teams are formed and various matches are played. Emphasis is on speed and quick play. Milsims (Military Simulations) are really what sets Airsoft apart as an adventure sport. In Milsim, the gaming is scenario driven, with more complex games involving branching story lines and lasting up to 12 and 24 hours! Emphasis in these games is on endurance, planning, and sound strategy. Milsim is really what attracts most players to Airsoft. Most of are events combine elements from Skirmishes and Milsim. Usually quick scenarios are played out, and players are eliminated as they are hit.

History of Airsoft
The sport of Airsoft started in Japan during the early 1980s. It was illegal to own firearms in Japan but there was a significant interest in them, so a company started producing spring-powered replicas of firearms that fired 6mm, plastic BBs. There are some people who insist that Airsoft originated from the early days of paintball, when there were paintball guns that fired .22 caliber paintballs, but we will not delve into that subject. During the latter part of the 1980s the sport migrated to neighboring countries such as Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, and the Philippines. Airsoft started appearing in North America and Europe during the middle of the 1990s but it is only during the last 2-3 years that the sport started thriving in these venues.

History of the Team
Our team founders Mud started playing this sport in 2004. The 2004 season attracted many new players to the Montréal and surrounding Québec regions. This is when a group of friends band together and started playing as a team in the goal of having a regular player base to be able to attend to local airsoft events or to organize events ourselves. Our main goal is still to build a healthy airsoft player base. We played a lot during the 2004 season. We have been playing bi-weekly indoor events to keep ourselves going over the long and hard winter periods.
